MEET MRS. LUPOI am very excited to announce that I will be your child's classroom teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. I have been a classroom teacher for sixteen years and have taught Kindergarten, first grade, third grade and 4th grade and of course, this will be my fifth year in 5th grade. I also have worked as an ELD English language development facilitator for two years teaching English language to our newcomers. Just a few years ago, I completed my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am the coordinator and facilitator for our First Lego League Jr. program at Vista Grande in addition to helping facilitate Vista Grande's On-Site Broadcasting program. It has been such a joy to see our very own Vista Grande students using their voice and presentation literacy skills in front of the camera to share important messages with our school. In addition, Our Vista Grande's First Lego League Jr. Robotics program has allowed our kiddos to demonstrated their understanding o through research, collaboration, and technology! Last year I also facilitated the Vista Grande News Crew where students had the opportunity to use their leadership skills and RIASEC strengths to create a newsletter featuring newsworthy information tom our staff, parents, and students! Teaching is my passion!! I hope to help your children become successful, life-long learners knowing and understanding that each child's learning progression is unique. I look forward to providing personalized learning for my students so they can continue be successful this year and throughout their academic careers. I am a native San Diegan and blessed with a wonderful husband, Domenic and three beautiful children, Salvatore (22) Marissa (19) and Giacomo (15). All my children have attended Vista Grande Elementary. Now life is busy with our children at different schools and college life, and real world experiences. Salvatore has graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelors of Arts in Italian Language and a minor in Chemistry. He will begin his career in New York City with a Life Science firm called Trinity Science. Marissa will be attending UCLA as a sophomore as a Bioengineering major, and Giacomo is a sophomore at Valhalla High School. I love to spend time with my family, traveling, reading, cooking and baking especially (Italian food and pastries), crafting, and love running. One of my all-time favorite things to do is to curl up on the couch or at the beach and read a good book. To the classroom, I bring a love of learning, technology skills, a whole child-centered philosophy, and a belief that all children can succeed. The physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of all students is both continuous and sequential. Thus, my main goal is to give each individual in my class what is needed. I want to take them from where they are to as far as they can go this year. I can't wait for the new year to begin and look forward to connecting with each and every child! It's going to be a wonderful 5th grade year! Annie Lupo |
